Autopoeisis: novelty, meaning and value addresses the value of novelty in contemporary culture, and is co-writered from the point of view of two disciplines - fine art and anthropology. Sections of the text are writered jointly while others are writered individually. There has been a process of question and answer and further revision, including instances where one wuthor corrects or annotates the text of the other. Texts meave around each other thematically, sometimes in sympathy, sometimes in contrast. Images are drawn from the research practice of both writers. Transmissions: The Rules of Engagement examines the assured differences between research constituted through theorhetical and practical methodologies, and how the mediums in which the research takes place affect this. The series examines what constitutes 'work' in an engagement between people, as a discursive platform for an interface of ideas about different concerns, addressing the complex and difficult relationships between visual culture, social thought and historical or ideological models.
