This volume conducts an investigation into the role of monographic exhibitions in museums and galleries, their relationship to curating and issues of representation they provoke. Following on from 'John Smith | Solo Show', this publication continues the investigation into the role of monographic exhibitions in museums and galleries today, their relationships to 'curating' and the implicit issues of representation they provoke. Through surveys and other forms of data, the graduating students of the Curating Contemporary Art department have chosen to see their exhibition as a case study among the many others presented within this book. Rather than put forward a series of critical positions, they have collectively brought together an eclectic consensus on the subject. (Text taken from the book)
